Marion 8750 dragline
Walking-arm refurbishment for a Bowen Basin operation — the propel gear case changed out in situ. Fabrication, machining, fitting and QA, one accountable team.

Ø 5.5 m GEAR · 150 t WORKPIECE · 13 m BORER TRAVEL · QA ON ALL WORK
Manufacture, refurbishment and repair across fabrication, slew bearings, induction hardening, machining, fitting, painting and engineering — work moves between departments without leaving the building.
Seven numbered departments. Each entry links to its full specification below.
Submerged-arc, TIG and MIG welding under accredited Welding Supervisors leading certified Welders and Boilermakers — plus ABC's patented ABClad hard-surfacing process. Delivered from a dedicated fabrication building with four dragline bucket arch pits.
Australia's only large bearing manufacturer. Manufacture, refurbishment and repair for the major excavator and dragline fleets — OEM bearings condition-assessed, rebuilt and warranted, with in-situ change-out plus jacking and support stands when the machine can't come to us.
Queensland's most modern commercial induction-hardening facility — 200–400 kW at 3–10 kHz, hardening to 60 HRC at 3–15 mm case depth, backed by a gas-fired stress-relieving and normalising oven rated to 800 °C.
The largest machine shop north of Brisbane. A CNC floor borer with 13 m of travel and a 6 m column carries workpieces to 150 t; vertical borers turn to Ø 5 m; gears are cut external and internal to Ø 5.5 m. Every job leaves with a detailed QA package.
Gear-case and main-machinery overhaul to OEM specification, with jacking presses to 600 t. Fitting works the same floor as fabrication, machining and painting — which is why a repair never has to leave the building, 24 hours a day.
Abrasive blasting and protective coatings to industrial and marine specification, applied by trade-accredited painters using airless and conventional spray — inspected and documented under the same QA discipline as every other department.
SolidWorks 3D modelling, finite-element analysis and AutoCAD drafting to AS1100 — plus reverse engineering of legacy components where drawings no longer exist, and design optimisation before anything reaches the floor.
The whole shop in one table. If your component fits the envelope, we machine it — and issue the QA package to prove it.
