All steel and nonferrous fabrications — from small detailed work to large structural sectionalised weldments — are carried out in a purpose-built 90 m × 30 m × 16 m high fabrication building, with workpieces up to 150 t handled under the dual cranes.

Because fabrication shares a floor with machining, induction hardening, fitting and painting, a weldment moves straight from the positioner to the borer to the paint bay — and every job leaves with a detailed QA package.

From rope sheaves to whole walking frames

New manufacture and repair of dragline and face-shovel rope sheaves and drums, pins and bushes, walking frames, cams and shafts, fairlead and boom-point assemblies, and hydraulic-excavator load rollers and drive sprockets — plus structural repairs for booms, side frames, car bodies, upper-frame modules, dippers and buckets.

Specialised welding

Sub-arc, TIG, MIG — and patented ABClad

Submerged-arc, TIG and MIG welding, run on booms, manipulators, rolls and jigs so the wire keeps moving on long seams. For wear, ABC’s patented ABClad hard-surfacing reclaims dragline components, dippers and buckets in the same bay.

A 90 × 30 × 16 m bay, rigged for heavy work

The fabrication building is sized for sectionalised weldments and whole machines: four dragline-bucket arch pits in the floor, seven rotators on the wall line, and dual cranes overhead for workpieces up to 150 t.
